Few amazing clay works by Lauren Clay. Check out some of her latest work. She creates these three-dimensional sculpture out of paper-mache and painted cut paper (among many other things) that go far beyond the limits of paper’s two-dimensionality. The layered strips of paper create repeated patterns of texture that feel organic but I’m sure they were meticulously placed. Her color choices, materials, and construction shows her sincerity to the work, and all of this makes me mad about her fantastic sculptures.
